1. Can you use a hose clamp on a CV boot?
The standard hose clamp has perforated slots, necessary for the worm-gear mechanism, that create a series of sharp edges. As the CV boot flexes and moves with the suspension, these sharp edges can dig into the rubber or plastic, creating small tears that ultimately damages the whole CV joint.
